Last month I began a year long exercise in stock market investment. My goal was to provide my readers with a glimpse into the ups and downs of such an activity. Well here we are one month out and I will provide you with my results so far. **Please remember that I am not an investment professional. I have not invested any of my own money in these securities and I would caution my reader from doing so either. This is for educational purposes only.
Where the portfolio stands one month out:
- ishares Silver Trust(SLV) – Purchase Price: $29.48, number of shares 42. Current Price: $30.43 Profit of $39.90
- Cablevision(CVC) – Purchase Price $15.05, number of shares 82. Current Price: $14.97 Loss of $6.56
- Alpha Natural Resources(ANR) – Purchase Price $10.28, number of shares 117. Current Price: $8.23 Loss of $239.85
- FaceBook(FB) – Purchase Price $29.22, number of shares 42. Current Price: $28.55 Loss of $28.14
After a month of fictitious investment the portfolio has lost $234.65. Not the results I was hoping for, but this is a year long journey. You could be down one month and up the next, or down more the next. That’s the whole point. Stay tuned, perhaps The PiggyBankBuilder Portfolio will fair better next month.
